My style of therapy is warm and interactive. I will share my thoughts and perspectives with you, as well as my experience of you, in an objective, sensitive, and honest way. I will offer assessments and formulations, and suggest interventions and strategies I think could be helpful.

It is important that you feel I am someone who will be a good therapeutic fit for you, your child, or your family. I will be checking in with you over the first few sessions to ensure this. During this time I will also be assessing whether I am someone who can be helpful to you.

My therapeutic approach is relationally oriented and incorporates family systems, insight oriented, mindfulness, trauma informed approaches, IFS parts work, as well as my own personal growth work. I will be looking at the interplay between your family dynamics and your individual traits, as reflected in personality and temperament, and how these different factors contribute to problems. I will also be looking at how different parts of you are showing up in your current life, and whether these parts are protecting younger, wounded parts.

In addition to the knowledge and skills I have developed in my 25 years as a therapist, I also utilize recent findings from cognitive and affective neuroscience, as well as trauma informed approaches, and mindfulness-based practices.
